Wales vs England Match Preview
England will travel to face British rivals Wales in an important Euro 2012 Qualifier at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
England players prepare for their Euro Qualifying showdown against Wales.
Striker Robert Earnshaw has withdrawn from the Wales squad due to injury, while star winger Gareth Bale is ruled out with a hamstring problem. Bale is the only player to have scored for Wales in their three qualifying games so far.
Aaron Ramset will play his first game for Wales in over a year after returning from a horrific leg break. Ramsey will likely go head to head in central midfield against his Arsenal club-mate Jack Wilshere.
Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand and Theo Walcott are all ruled out injured for England. Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Matt Jarvis has been called into his first England squad after a series of impressive Premier League performances.
The injury absence of Ferdinand has led to John Terry being reinstated as captain, something that has caused borderline hysteria in the English press. England striker Peter Crouch told BBC Sport this week that the players are unmoved by the tabloid talk.
“There’s a lot of talk of unrest but it’s not an issue. John Terry has always been fantastic on the pitch, leading Chelsea to Doubles, and he’ll be good for us again,” said Crouch.
