Manchester City vs Manchester United Match Preview
Manchester City and Manchester United will go head to head in the FA Cup Semi-Final on Saturday.United are looking to continue their quest to repeat their treble feat of 1998/1999, while the FA Cup is City’s last hope of winning a trophy this season.
City manager Roberto Mancini told BBC Sport this week that his team are looking to “change history” by winning the FA Cup. Meanwhile, United midfielder Paul Scholes stoked the fires ahead of the game by claiming City are not a rival of United. “when they are fourth or fifth in the league, I don’t think they can be classed as a main rival,” the former England midfielder told BBC Sport.
Micah Richards will return from injury for City, while star striker Carlos Tevez is ruled out with a hamstring problem. Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko are vying to lead the City attack in the absence of Tevez.
Wayne Rooney and Jonny Evans are suspended for United, while Darren Fletcher is sidelined with a virus.
